If you want to learn how
to speak French, then I'm excited that you
have come to my blog because not only will my story
be of interest to you, it will also save you some money
as well as a lot of your time.
I'm going to tell you
exactly how I
finally managed to speak and understand French confidently and
fluently by using an online multimedia course called Rocket
French.
Here's my story: My name is Violet
Hoskins
and like you I was searching online for a way to improve
my French language skills. I had met some new French
Canadian friends, and their first language was French. I
decided I would really like to
be able to communicate with them fluently in their
native language.
I had studied French a little at high school,
but that was a long time ago and I had completely
forgotten everything but the basics - and I even
struggled to remember those. Whenever my friends spoke
French I didn't have a clue what they were talking
about. I also felt a little guilty when they spoke in
English just because of me .
However, in August 2008,
I decided it was time for me to make a serious effort in
learning how to speak French fluently.
But Learning French Was Going To Be Much
Harder Than I Thought.
My first plan was to scour the local bookstore in search of a structured
course or audio CD's which could teach me how to speak
French like a native, but many of these packages seemed
boring to study - and focused on time-consuming
reading/writing skills which I had little use for.
I realized these are important topics to learn if I want
to master the language, but the lack of speaking and
listening exercises made it feel like it would take
forever to understand and communicate with my new
friends.
So I Turned To The
Internet...
The first
product I came across was called "Rosetta Stone
French". This is basically a software program which
shows you pictures and tells you the French word which
describes the object, or what is happening in the
picture.
This seemed great at first, but the
things I was learning didn't seem very useful to me, and
there wasn't much structure to the teaching. It was also
very expensive - I bought a package deal which contains
all 3 levels for $549.
It was fun for
awhile, but the novelty soon wore off and I didn't learn
much to help me with my goal of learning to speak
French confidently and fluently like a native.
I also tried
an expensive course called Pimsleur French. This also
came in 3 levels, each costing around $225. These were
solely audio CD lessons, and felt very dated and out
fashioned. They were great for putting me to sleep - but
barely had any effect on my French speaking skills.
Eventually, I
found something that worked.
Having spent so much time,
money and energy desperately trying to succeed with
these expensive products, which ultimately had very
little effect on reaching my goal, I decided to try one
last product.
The
next product I tried was called Rocket French.
I had never heard of it
before and because of my recent experiences, I was
initially a little resistant to investing money into
anything else. But after reading lots of
extremely positive reviews and the product's main claim
being exactly what I was looking for, I decided to give it a shot.
What seemed to be so
different with this program was that it made learning
French fun and enjoyable. The previous programs really
felt like work, and I never felt like I was getting
anywhere.
But the interactive nature
of Rocket French kept me entertained, while teaching me
to understand and speak the kind of "real"
French I
wanted to learn.
Here's why I recommend it.
The reason why I recommend
Rocket French is because it teaches you to understand
and speak the kind of "real" French you want to learn.
It is also a very interactive package, with structured
audio lessons as well as entertaining games.
On their website they
claim the Rocket French package can teach you to speak
French confidently and naturally in less than 8 weeks.
Although it did take me a
few weeks longer that it says on the
website, I have managed to boost my French
understanding and speaking skills through the roof,
which I'm sure you'll agree is pretty astonishing in
just over 2 months. I'm almost at the
stage of talking fluently with my new French friends -
and they're really impressed!
In
my opinion, this is superior and far more effective than
any of the other products I tried. Obviously everyone is
different but this has worked extremely well for me.
The general idea with the Rocket
French course is to follow the audio lessons, and use
the games to boost your vocab and listening skills.
What could be simpler? You don't even have
to study for hours each day which is required for some
courses.
Anyway, I hope you've
found this information useful whatever your situation
because if I had known about
Rocket French a few months back, I would have improve
my French speaking skills in less than half the time,
and saved myself lots of wasted time and several hundred
dollars with
all these other products. I wish you every success!
Sincerely,
Violet Hoskins
